RUNWAY: rag&bone FW14

rag&bone's Marcus Wainwright and David Neville are bouncing between London and New York to showcase their men's collection. From last seaosn's military-influenced SS14 collection in London to a more somber FW14 collection in New York, the duo sure are racking up plenty of travel miles. For FW14, there was an easy and softness to the outerwear and while a more relaxed silhouette fell in line with the emerging trends we saw in the European shows. Pajama-like shirts in silky fabrics made an appearance while the label's always chic outerwear offered plenty to covet.

RUNWAY: Comme des Garcons Shirt FW14

The expansive world of Comme des Garcons is usually best known for the avant-garde designs seen on Comme des Garcons Homme Plus. Take Homme Plus' FW14 show that showcased suits, shirts and trousers with cut out. For Shirt's FW14 collection, Rei Kawakubo focused on the various ways men wear shirts. Utilitarian designs like blue pinstripe, slightly oversized, are sure to be favorites for young professionals, while more adventurous designs with interesting patterns, or even one with a diagonal closure, will please those who love Kawakubo's designs but can't afford the price point of Homme Plus.

RUNWAY: Ralph Lauren FW14

Ralph Lauren, the purveyor of American prep, offers a look at the many lines he offers for FW14, from his high end Purple Label, full of luxurious suits and multi-ply cashmeres, to more rugged looks from Polo Ralph Lauren. For FW14, the New York-born designer plays on familiar themes we've seen throughout the European shows thus far and while still adding that special Ralph Lauren touch, whether it becomes via rounded collars, evoking a turn of the century look, to patchwork on a coat, akin to what he designed the US athletes to wear during the Sochi Olympic games.
