A few weeks after the conclusion of fashion week, editors and other fashion cognoscente arrive in New York to see Alexander Wang's capsule collection for fast fashion retailer H&M. The result was an all-black collection that played less on New York City's un-official color and more on reductive designs from Wang, including oversized puffers, neoprene sweatsuits, and plenty of trimmed detailing highlighting that it's all about the Wang.
Like most of H&M's capsule collections, this will sell well because of its price point, allowing teens and struggling 20-somethings a bit of the fashion dream at affordable prices; so who cares if the offerings are as exciting as the color palette? Consumers of fast fashion designs will be smiling after their purchases, so too will Wang and H&M as they smile all the way to the bank.

Models walked in pairs at Zazo & Brull's latest runway show, with each wearing complementary looks to his or her partner. Take the opening look from River Viiperi: a flowy turtleneck and slim cut trousers with his partner donning an austere cut dress. Much of the show had similar duality: white with black and fluidity with tightness.

Utility was the buzzword at Georgina Vendrell's sporty Fall/Winter 2014 collection. Shearling lined outerwear was mixed with utilitarian pants and stark knits to create simple but modern and covetable looks while leather added a hard edge to these youthful designs.
