Sarah Burton's collections for Alexander McQueen stay true to the namesake designer's aesthetic but thankfully not too true, she adds her own uniqueness to it. For FW18, classic British tailoring was updated a la McQueen with beautifully printed suits in floral or ornate embroidery while oversized and dramatic parkas offered a utilitarian outerwear option. Then there was a double-collar peacoat with leather accents that looks sublime while a leather jacket was paired with a raincoat tied around the waist should an abrupt rainfall happen. Speaking of the waist, there was a business up top, party on the bottom-thing happening at McQueen as well. The top was prime and proper while bottoms were loungey and loose, often paired with sneakers (or trainers, if you will). This clothing mullet might seem a bit off putting but strangely enough, it's how more and more men are dressing so why not offer them a luxe version?

Wim Koch dons Sarah Burton's latest collection for McQ, the diffusion line from the Alexander McQueen label. For FW17, Burton offers simple patterns like stripes and mixes it up with more glam-cum-grunge looks like sparkly pants or platform boots or intricately embroidered bombers.

What season did Alexander McQueen's Sarah Burton design today, the last day of Paris Fashion Week? Technically, it is a Spring/Summer collection but with sheer amount of leather coats, puffers and knits would suggest otherwise. Nevertheless, the collection, the label's first show back in Paris in a long time, was a huge success. The beauty and technical expertise of the cuts and finishes on nearly everything was exemplary while the austere silhouette still conferred the sinister bend that the McQueen label has been known for. The finale, full of gorgeous coats, capped off a collection that was one of the best, if not the best, men's collection Burton has designed. Bravo!

Dark and deeply romantic are two simple and succinct descriptions of Alexander McQueen's FW16 collection. The tailoring was on point, sleek and modern, while the moth and butterfly motifs added a bit of whimsy in the otherwise macabre collection. The label's Sarah Burton builds on the ethos of the man whose name is on the label but edges it forward with this collection, one of her best.

The Alexander McQueen label has gone through quite a bit change since its namesake designer left this world. It's been over five years since his death and the label that bore his name is thriving. Take the label's Spring/Summer 2016 collection's strong tailoring stance: from the structured overcoats to well made suits, tailoring is clearly is at heart of the collection...and the label. Other elements included fun and kitschy takes on modern culture, like "Legendary" printed on a sea-themed outfit while the idea of taking off to sea brought the collection together, from those sailing-inspired overcoats that kicked off the show to the patterned jumpsuits and pajama-inspired outfits. This is McQueen, after all, so there were some subversive elements, take the grommet-holed peacoats, austere, straitjacket snug tailoring and the wet hair on the models that signaled just a bit of insanity.

After a much-lauded FW15 collection for Alexander McQueen, the McQueen team showcased a much younger and sportier collection the label's diffusion line, McQ. Graphic prints, a bit of fur and a sublime Perfecto rounded out this collection, which was heavily rooted in denim.

Military uniforms and military codes were front and center at Alexander McQueen's FW15 collection. The label's Sarah Burton offered slim cut suiting with words like "Honour" and "Truth" plastered on front. Other highlights in the somber and dark collection include poppies on suits and outerwear, as well some excellent knits in a chunky gauge.

Gone are the britches that Sarah Burton had been so keen on for Alexander McQueen (thank goodness!) and in are elongated shirts and jackets for SS15. The location (the Royal College of Surgeons) was fitting as the collection felt quite clinical and precise. The cuts and tailoring were strict while harnesses on coats felt like straps to tie a patient down during surgery (or at an asylum). The beautiful wavy patterns were a nice reprieve from the subversive elements of the show while the austere hair and makeup reinforced the sinister vibes. In all, the collection felt more aligned to the modern man and less so the man at the turn of the 20th century.

Stevens Klein captures the harrowing and gender-bending Spring/Summer 2014 campaign for McQ, the diffusion line from Alexander McQueen. Frank Lebon, Declan Cullen, Sean Semmens, Brogan Loftus and Arwel all appear in the campaign.

Alexander McQueen's diffusion line, McQ, offered a youthful and anarchistic collection for Fall/Winter 2014, seen in punk-inspired plaids, leather, and plenty of attitude.
