RUNWAY: Alexander McQueen SS15
Gone are the britches that
Sarah Burton had been so keen on for
Alexander McQueen (thank goodness!) and in are elongated shirts and jackets for SS15. The location (the Royal College of Surgeons) was fitting as the collection felt quite clinical and precise. The cuts and tailoring were strict while harnesses on coats felt like straps to tie a patient down during surgery (or at an asylum). The beautiful wavy patterns were a nice reprieve from the subversive elements of the show while the austere hair and makeup reinforced the sinister vibes. In all, the collection felt more aligned to the modern man and less so the man at the turn of the 20th century.
