RUNWAY: Fendi FW19
Any fan of
Fendi knows that
Karl Lagerfeld has been with the label since before his days at Chanel and his presence is felt even in the menswear - which he doesn't contribute to. Until this FW19 collection where he was both the muse and contributor. The collection saw Lagerfeld's life flash before him, from his days an exercise fiend all the way to the present and his adoration of Dior Homme and, specifically Hedi Slimane. It was quite an interesting collection, indeed, one that spanned multiple decades from the 50s and 60s to the 80s to 2000s. Unlike most collections which focus primarily on only one, Lagerfeld's style has changed through the decades and so did this collection. The quirky modernity of the collection fit right in with Silvia Venturini Fendi's aesthetic and her penchant for creating the most adorable and covetable accessories - although those sheer pockets are a bit of a trick, aren't they?
