RUNWAY: Andrea Pompilio FW14
Andrea Pompilio has been slowly edging his way into the mainstream fashion circuit, from showing at Pitti Uomo to being last season's guest designer under
Giorgio Armani's new initiative to attract younger designers to show during Milan, instead of New York or London. Pompilio's collections are youthful, a bit eccentric and incredibly chic. Take, for example, his FW14 show that was full of military tailaoring but dandy-ed up with furry hats, cropped proprtions, and playful polka-dot pants. Though the start of the show had a more somber color palette, by the end, an explosion of beautiful hues from emerald green to coral were seen. A triumphant collection for Pompilio and also for Milan, which needs more designers like Pompilio who'll bring a fresh look and a new perspective to the aging old guard.
