RUNWAY: Gucci FW14
The codes of the
Gucci house were changed for Fall/Winter 2014. The house's Frida Giannini opted for a demure collection that had little to none of the excess and outward sexiness of season's past. Instead, Giannini proffered a very English collection and instituted a less-is-more attitude, with stark and minimal clothes, such as a furry powder blue blouson paired with slim trousers. Instead of the blatant sexuality of the clothes, for the upcoming season, Gucci preferred a more subversive take on sex, via a plethora of leather pants and jackets, sometimes paired with a pageboy cap. One thing that did not change in the Gucci formula book was the tuxedo finale, which was full of the great tailoring we've come to expect from Gucci.
