RUNWAY: John Varvatos FW15
Leather pants and a double belted military jacket kicked off the latest collection from the musically-inclined designer
John Varvatos. Autumnal shades complemented the foliage that made up the runway and though there were hints of Varvatos' signature hard rocker aesthetic. The hard-to-miss musical elements came in the form of a guitar case that matched the coat worn by Fernando Cabral to scarfed models in chunky striped suits, which is this designer's signature. What felt modern and on-trend were the military inspired tailoring, something so ubiquitous that many looks from different designers (and cities) can be interchangeable. But with Varvatos' own aesthetic shining through, it was hard to mis-ID this collection.
