RUNWAY: Neil Barrett FW14

Nature was calling at Neil Barett's Fall/Winter 2014 show in Milan. A camo-like print on a toggle coat was a highlight in the opening look and signaled Barrett's train of thought for the collection that followed. After two successful collections featuring the same sort of look, Barrett continued it into next season with color blocked knits, some featuring lightning bolts. Lightning was recurring theme throughout the collection as well; clever since lightning struck twice with Barret's special take on color blocked knits, but does it strike three times? The verdict is still out. The real story, however, is in the beautiful ombre coats, reminding onlookers of beautiful sunsets, it was seen on wool coats, as well as leather ones, a feat not too easily accomplished in such a refined manner.
