RUNWAY: Moncler Gamme Bleu FW12
Moncler Gamme Bleu's designer
Thom Browne loves to play with menswear. Browne changed how men dress. His cropped proportions were "quirky" at first but over time, his look and aesthetic became the definition of how modern men dress. For FW12, he changed his proportions again, he took shoulders to a new degree. Models strutted down the runway in large shouldered jackets, cropped pants and floor length outerwear. He also utilized a lot of quilting, which continues from SS12's fencing-inspired collection. For FW12, Browne imagined the Gamme Bleu man on the race tracks, the Grand Prix, to be exact, an odd coincidence since earlier in the day
Umit Benan had the same idea, though Benan referenced the Grand Prix in the 1970s.
