Thom Browne's narrative on global warming and extreme weather caused by it was on display at Moncler Gamme Bleu's SS18 show, held on the penultimate day of Milan Fashion Week. Moncler's signature puffers were on display against the snowy showspace while models dressed and undressed the layers they wore, ultimately wearing only swimwear.

Extra sports are on display at Moncler Gamme Bleu's FW17 show, featuring all manner of puffers from oversized to slim and quilted to ones fabricated in wool. Ropes and carabiners were used as accessories to secure these thrill-seeking men to the mountains they are climbing but they also constricted them, like a boa constrictor. This was seen on many of the coats, pants and knits, with a plethora of ropes dangling from the very well made and thought out clothes. Take out all the extra "show pieces" and this collection is gold.

Thom Browne's latest collection for Moncler Gamme Bleu did not proffer a sports theme, miracles do happen! Instead of the requisite sport reference, Browne looked to camping for inspiration for Gamme Bleu's SS17 collection. The result was centered on utility, with a plethora of pockets on jackets to a melange of plaid on nearly every layer. There were, of course, snazzy coats to appease the Moncler aficionado and the theme this season is a much needed respite from the cycle of sport that's been offered by Browne and Moncler for the past umpteenth seasons. It was a breath of fresh air, like one may get after a weekend in the forest.

Thom Browne's FW16 collection for Moncler Gamme Bleu felt ill-timed. With the recent attacks in Paris, Africa, and America, and the attempted attacks in Belgium, this military and camouflage-heavy collection, complete with masks and painted faces that resembled many of the terrorists have recently worn, seemed off. As for the clothes, the camo theme was exponentially done to the point of being quixotic. Bring back the kitschy sport references, we say!

Rowing is one of the few sports that Thom Browne has yet to explore for his collaborative collection with Italian label Moncler. For Gamme Bleu's SS16, the theme was evident from the row boat one may see at the Warwick Rower's club house. Meanwhile, the collection proffered a litany of seersucker, in grey and white, as well Browne's signature red, white and blue. Dashes of lime and ruby lightened up the mood while boxy silhouettes and knee high socks gave the collection a strong collegiate vibe.

Thom Browne has seemingly run out of sports to inspire his latest collections for Moncler, named Moncler Gamme Bleu. It was back to equestrianism for FW15, with so many puffers there were barely enough models to wear them, or in this case, carry them. Checks, plaids, and zig zag patterns all made big impacts on the collection's busy looks from cropped and padded jackets to slim fitted pants, often times with a pattern that matched the top that appeared just above the left knee; what a smart way to encourage men to buy the whole outfit. Each look was complemented by a pair of knee-high equestrian boots with Browne's signature red, white and blue stripes. The strongest looks came in the most outlandish of designs, like a beaded boucle jacket with a hogwash of checks and stripes, while more demure looks like the formal jackets with matching bow tie were a nice alternative to the austere tailoring seen at Milan Fashion Week.

Every season, Thom Browne picks a sport as his inspiration for his collection for Moncler Gamme Bleu, whether it be skiing, fencing, or boxing, which was today's sport du jour. From shirtless models in shiny boxing shorts to ones wearing thick stitched coats that resembled the stitching seen on boxer's gloves, complete with lace-up boots, it was all about boxing.
Though Moncler attempts to double down on its designer collaborations (Moncler Gamme Rouge by Giambattiste Vali now offers menswear), Browne sent down a flurry of womenswear looks that departed from the boxing theme but for the men who this collection is essentially for, the look was easy to follow, take for example the roomy quilted layers with elongated shorts and plenty of tri-color red, white and blue stripes, Browne's signature.
