RUNWAY: Parke & Ronen SS12
Parke & Ronen's colorful prints reminds us of a trip we took a few years ago to Barcelona, particular to
Park Guell, the famed park littered with the work of arist
Gaudi. The bright, ofttimes very busy, prints was a staple for Parke & Ronen's skimpy collection. Aside from the swimwear, there were some great pieces in equally light and colorful fabrications like a paper thin linen salmon shirt paired with a mustard yellow jacket in the first look to horizontally a contrast striped shirt with a grey accent trim with rolled up shorts. It is becoming abundantly clear from New York that SS12 is a season where one should embrace color, color blocking and wild prints, which could be a problem for many a New Yorker, whose favorite color is black.
