RUNWAY: DKNY Mens SS12

DKNY's Mens presentation for Spring/Summer 2012 did something no other menswear brand has ever done: shown a collection inside the famed NASDAQ MarketSite Tower in Times Square. If you were lucky, you could look up today at 5pm and see all 36 models from the Times Square Pavilion.

The location was quite fitting for the brand, whose focus is on dressing the modern working man in sophisticated suits for work. Their formula also includes providing minimalist sportswear pieces for that modern working man to wear on the weekends. While suits were sleek and grey with hints of blue, the sportswear pieces gave a bit more range from that dazzling blue we saw on every runway in Europe to an ombre knit at the end.

Though Donna Karen built her fashion empire by creating clothes for New Yorkers in the color palette that ranged from black to black, the color that made famous was not heavily featured for SS12 and that's just as well, we like our Spring collections to be light and to reflect the sun, not absorb its warm rays
