RUNWAY: Billy Reid SS12

During NYFW SS12, Billy Reid was one of the hottest tickets because Billy Reid won the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award, an award that rarely goes to a menswear designer. As part of the prize, Billy Reid designed a collaboration collection with sportswear retailer J.Crew. Though Reid has added womenswear to his presentations, his forte, we think, is still menswear.

We especially love the plethora of raglan sleeves he showed, as well as the crinkled fabrics he used to create country-chic looks that only he can pull off. Patterns were also often seen but our favorite was a patchwork quilt short that was adorably quirky.
