RUNWAY: Moschino FW11

Moschino was intriguing for Fall/Winter 2011 and not necessarily in the good way. The clothes seemed too sporty and out of place. They would've fit in much more if shown under Moschino's diffusion line, Cheap and Chic. The opening looking on Francisco Lachowski, clutching what looks to be football, set the tone for the rest of the collection, an array of pulled together clothes that were either too matchy-matchy or did not mix and match properly. As separates, the clothes will probably find an audience but for the runway where one presents an idea and concept about the future of menswear, it felt a bit flat. It seemed like a collection modeled after a few American designers, with the closing look akin to the aesthetic of a particular designer who used to show at New York Fashion Week but now shows his eponymous line in Paris.
