RUNWAY: Joseph Abboud FW19
Turn of the 20th century-inspired clothing in neutral tones littered
Joseph Abboud's FW19 collection, which aimed to highlight the melting pot that is the United States, juxtaposing that with present-day political messaging saying that those coming in as immigrants are not welcome and will make the country less-great. Not so, says Abboud, who makes his case with oodles of layers in classic fabrics like tweeds, houndstooth, herringbone and more. Though the styling was a bit Westworld-like, the leather coats with furry detailing, for example, made up for the heavy handed approach to the inspiration.
