RUNWAY: Helmut Lang FW19

It might depend who on asks but many of the fashion cognoscenti would argue that Helmut Lang is the most influential designer form the past 25 years. Since the namesake designer left a decade and a half ago, his label hobbled along, being resurrected here and there - most recently under the direction of Shayne Oliver of Hood by Air to much chagrin. It returns now with a collection that's far more rooted in the legacy of the designer: minimal with hints of kink and perversion - whether that's through an open shirt, sheer layers or a shocking jolt of color to awaken the senses - all of which were present here with much aplomb.
