RUNWAY: Jil Sander SS19

When many think of uniforms, they normally think of military uniforms or school uniforms but, at least since the 90s, there has been a uniform that's embodied what many business people prefer to wear. During this time, minimalist designers such as Jil Sander offered pared back tailoring that conveyed quiet power and was a diametric opposite of the flashy powersuits of the yester-decade. For SS19, the Meiers looked back at this uniform Sander proffered over two decades ago and the result was strong, with lightweight layering, luxurious fabrics and a street smart ethos that did not belie the brand identity.
