RUNWAY: Prada SS19

Miuccia Prada's latest collection started off almost sombre with a simple pair of high waisted trousers styled with a short-sleeved turtleneck and a nylon ushanka. It quickly transformed into a vibrant, pattern-filled collection full of floral patterns, bright colors, short-shorts, and plenty of denim. The beautifully printed shirts, full of vibrant colors, depicting many scenes such a naked man on a lake, brought home this freeing collection and echoed an emerging theme at this menswear season: a man in touch with his femininity and unafraid to show it. The finale, which featured Air's iconic "Sexy Boy", seemed like an homage to Prada's legion of gay patrons who've been loyal customers of the Italian house. By that moment, the runway turned almost into a night club that celebrated of these patron's liberation - it doesn't hurt that it's also gay pride month.
