RUNWAY: Neil Barrett SS16
Neil Barrett's Spring/Summer 2016 collection had the travel bug. The British designer aimed to connect the menswear from various parts of the world into one cohesive collection. There were elements of American blue collar workers, as well as Japanese denim and European tailoring fused together. The idea of fusion wasn't just in the inspiration but also in the materials, denim jeans were fused with a jacket, moccasins were blended with sneakers to make a new kind of shoe. Experimentation was key here, from the techno take on camouflage to the hybrid designs, with the results furthering Barrett's distinct view point on contemporary fashion.
