RUNWAY: Viktor & Rolf FW15

While Paris Fashion Week was happening, there were murmurs that another label would soon cease their ready-to-wear collections, like Jean Paul Gaultier. Cue Viktor & Rolf's announcement this morning that the FW15 season will be the duo's last in the RTW market, they'll focus all their energy on haute couture, as well as their profitable fragrance licenses.

For their menswear finale, the duo proffered a somber end: a color palette that trended toward greys and blacks, with a hint of olive here or there, all seen on graphic designs, from cropped and fitted suits to sportier offerings like puffer jackets and a varsity-inspired knit. The textures like lush tweeds and the graphic patterns were appealing and were pared back so not to take away from the austere tailoring, an elegant exit for a duo whose avant-garde reputation precedes them.
