RUNWAY: Perry Ellis FW15

Perry Ellis has gone through many changes in the past few years. They have a steady business as purveyors of dress shirts and business-wear to the masses, with plenty of licensing deals, including fragrances, that bankrolls the very large company. However, the brand has had trouble ratcheting up Fashion (yes, capital F-fashion) points. For FW15, the Florida-based company returns to NYFW with a new vision, one that might be right up its alley: comfortable, athletic-cum-sporty designs. Lushly fabricated joggers, graphic accessories, and lots of chic coats will likely appeal to the masses. Though this shift and focus on athleticwear in menswear isn't happening just at Ellis. However, we think this is prime time for mega-sized brands like Perry Ellis to get in on this trend and put their stamp on it, which this collections aspires to do.
