RUNWAY: Prada FW15
Prada's iconic nylon bags were the focus of the label's FW15 collection. The bags that made Prada a household name and the ones that labeled her a "minimalist, in sharp contrast to the maximists of the time (Versace, for example). For FW15, the nylon bags were expanded upon to encapsulate ready to wear; iterations include navy or purple trenches, suits and the like. The show, which contained both mens and womens clothing, was an expression on gender, said the show notes. However, the story, at least when it comes to the menswear, was about the nylon bag and how something so iconic can be translated to the world, to menswear, 20 years or so after its debut. The result was a highly technical collection of stark suits and boxy silhouettes in dark tones of blue, black and purple.
