RUNWAY: Salvatore Ferragamo FW14
Autumnal colors pervaded
Salvatore Ferragamo's FW14 collection, all that was missing was Autumn foliage. The label's Creative Director, Massimiliano Giornetti, stuck to his guns and showed only structured suits and outerwear. Unlike many of the other designers during London and Milan, oversized proportions were not
en mode here. Though the fit was relax, shoulders weren't dropped and you could not fit another human inside your overcoat. Linear lines also popped up often but the bulk of the collection trended towards a play on hard and soft, like a structured coat or tailored suit with a soft, silky scarf subtly tucked underneath, with just an inch or two of the accessory showing, a dandy's calling card if there ever was one.
