RUNWAY: Kenzo FW14
A somber start at
Kenzo gave way to beautiful barrage of colors. Co-creative directors
Carol Lim and
Humberto Leon made opposite attract at their FW14 show with oversized coats, many with roll necks, paired with geometric patterns seen on suits and knits, with the square patterns resembling mirrored windows on a highrise building reflecting the sun. When color hit the runway they were reminiscent of the sky, such as neon hues of yellow on a coat or calming shades of lavender. As for the tailoring, it seemed rooted in an English schoolboy uniforms, with long square jackets and barely-there lapels and trousers were loose and puddly over thick and cumbersome shoes.
