RUNWAY: Junya Watanabe FW14
For his Fall/Winter 2014 collection,
Junya Watanabe went a bit androgynous and glam rock, courtesy of David Bowie. Bowie has been a constant starting point for many collections this seasons, from runway soundtracks to hair/makeup to actual designs. At Watanabe, the country-bumpkin we've come to know and love rebelled with punk references throughout. Tailored clothing were dressed down with patchwork denim; excellent coats with just a hint of military influences were covetable while oversized knits signaled a new vision for the Japanese designer.
