RUNWAY: Prada SS14
Leave to
Miuccia Prada to find a quirky take on wayward travelers. For Spring/Summer 2014, the preeminent Italian designer showed a litany of looks inspired by tacky tourist garb, from floral shirts to oversized trousers, complete with large bags that resembled carpet bags, one that maybe Mary Poppins might carry. The collection drew from the 1940 and 1950s in its fit and design, opting for fuller silhouettes and bold prints, maybe channeling old televisions shows from that era. In all, it was a stark departure from FW13, something we've come to expect from Prada, to go from one extreme to the other with each passing season.
