RUNWAY: Moncler Gamme Bleu SS14
Thom Browne's latest collection for
Moncler Gamme Bleu was a peculiar combination of vampires playing cricket. Pale faced models with dark lipstick donned Browne's signature red, white and blue striped clothing as they palled around carrying components of what would be the most interesting game of cricket ever. Lightweight knits were a plenty, with some glamour added in via sequence, while proportions ran the gamut from elongated to cropped and proportions played the same game. As much as we adore the kitschy presentations that Browne and Moncler pull off, we wonder if this one trick collaboration has something other than sport references to offer. In a season that's had its fair share of sports references and with more and more labels showing less suiting, even in Milan, and more sportswear, the ante has been upped.
