RUNWAY: Fendi FW13

Fendi's intricate Fall/Winter 2013 runway show highlighted Karl Lagerfeld's ability to separate the identity of the many labels he designs collections for. Much like the expansive space, Lagerfeld tows an intricate balance between Fendi's history as a fur brand and its ready to wear line that has, specifically for its menswear, never received much press. However, with this showing in Milan, as opposed to the usual static presentation, it exposes the world to the smart clothing, such as tailored coats in beautiful dark shades like midnight blue to more flamboyant items like a sable coat. If this were any other house's show, they would be considered a follower by showing fur, a big trend this season, but this is Fendi and Fendi is known first and foremost for its luxe furs. So, in this, Fendi and Lagerfeld are leaders of the pack.
