RUNWAY: Perry Ellis by Duckie Brown SS13
After months of press and anticipation, the Perry Ellis x Duckie Brown collaboration was unveiled today with much fanfare. In previous interviews, Duckie Brown's designers Daniel Silver and Steven Cox mentioned that the collection was entitled, loosely and playfully, as Fifty Shades of Khaki and on that note, the duo delivered a very khaki-heavy collection. The 32 looks presented were well edited by Grant Woolhead and as expected, the collection was more commercial and wearable than Duckie Brown's signture collection. What was most surprising were the supremely chic safari-themed looks, especially the looks that featured graphic horizontal stripes. In all, we think the collection has great promise with a very strong initial debut, which is great since the contract between the two fashion entities stretches three years.
