RUNWAY: Jean Paul Gaultier SS13

Opting to cancel his runway show, Jean Paul Gaultier instead showed to a small selection of editors and buyers in Paris. For SS13, the famed couturier showed his signature stripes; bold stripes were seen on everything from tops, bottoms and outerwear, with compete looks have a uniform color and size while other looks showed varying directionality. There were also Middle Eastern references with fluid pants, draped pieces like scarves and turbans. Though the clothes were undoubtedly Gaultier, it lacked the panache that a runway show gives to his clothes; it lacked the drama and pièce de théâtre we're so used to from Gaultier.
