RUNWAY: Marlon Gobel FW12

Marlon Gobel's Fall/Winter 2012 collection was all about ultra luxury, from a gorgeous crocodile jacket with gold accents, worn by Jae Yoo, to the handful of dandified armor coats encrusted in Swarowski crystals. Gobel's collection was entitled "The Heist" and seemed to be indirectly inspired by Boardwalk Empire, with a strong showing of prints, texture and color. The silhouette was strong and powerful without promising fit. In all, Marlon Gobel showcased that one could create a luxe collection without excess, but rather creating a collection that was based on tailoring and adding a small dash of whimsy and flash.
