RUNWAY: Gant by Michael Bastian FW12
Just two days after his superb Fall/Winter 2012 eponymous runway show, Michael Bastian was at it again with his collaborative collection with Swedish-owned preppy brand Gant. For FW12, Bastian unsurprisingly created a more youthful collection compared to his eponymous line but his design aesthetic and incredible styling were seen throughout this collection. It was a deeply personal collection and this was mostly due to the fact that the collection was partially based on his life as a university student in Boston. Rugby polos were seen with deep V's, as well as track jackets, and colorful puffers. Bastian's signature skinny cargo panst were seen once again, and why not when they're updated and chic without making the man wearing them look dowdy. It was youthful, with a touch of luxe, and allowed the man who might not be able to afford his eponymous line to own a piece of the lifestyle and look that Bastian is selling and knowned for.
