RUNWAY: Nicole Farhi SS12

Nicole Farhi's mens designer, Massimo Nicosia, paid homage to his hometown (London) with another Olympic-inspired collection. Just like Thom Browne and Frida Giannini for Gucci, Nicosia took inspiration from sports such as fencing for SS12. The usually soft looks we expect from Farhi took on a tougher edge this season, helped by the sparse and darkly lit runway. With an almost minimalist aesthetic, it was key to have innovative details and there were plenty for SS12, like a reversible peacoat worn by Johannes Niermann and thermo-sealed seamed.
