RUNWAY: Kris Van Assche SS12
Kris Van Assche's aesthetic doesn't waiver much when comparing his two lines: this eponymous line and his designs for
Dior Homme. Both feature superficially simple garments, without a lot of bells and whistles, and simple accessories. Some might call it consistent while other might call it repetitive, if not boring. Whichever side of that fence you may land on, this collection edged a bit further from that consistency/repetition and featured strong tailoring with hard lines, evoking an 80s feel; while drop-crotch pants proportions were cropped and relaxed, which led to a free range of motion that felt liberating, contrasting sharply with the very exact tailoring Van Assche shows here with the suit jackets..
