Belgian designer Kris Van Assche combined athletic-wear with his signature tailoring to create a collection that was every bit as Silicon Valley as it was Wall Street. Trainers came out with nearly every outfit that saw double breasts suits, jogger suits, and a new take his KVA logo, which looked like a lectern with an open book. Highlights for the collection include the metallic emerald pieces, the abstract bubble patterns seen on knits and coats, as well as the military inspired coats with a simple zip on a sleeve or the breast.

Prep was all the rage at Kris Van Assche's SS15 collection, with the blue concrete-like pattern seen on jackets, shorts and pants, many of which had slit around the knee. The pared back luxury he's trumpeted at Dior Homme has bled into his eponymous line, a line that has always shown more of his sportier side. See the sleeveless knits with tri-color blocked pattern or a silky blue trench with orange collar paired with oversized shorts. Though tailoring is always a strong, today the Belgian designer opted to vary the options: there were military-style jackets with boxy silhouettes, while double breasted jackets were looser and allowed a bit of room to breathe. Meanwhile pants were just as varied, some sporting the already-mentioned slits, some tapered, others had drop crotches and even more were wide and boxy.

Kris Van Assche plays on pattern for the upcoming FW14 season was realized today via chunky herringbone-ish patterns, seen on coats and knits. Other notable pieces included galactic ships appliqued onto shirts and sweaters while structured leather vests added the idea of protection. The Belgian designer seemed to be playing off the very space-age-themed collection he created for Dior Homme last season (Spring/Summer 2014). Van Assche is added to the list of designers who've look to the stars as inspiration during this show season.
