RUNWAY: Kris Van Assche SS14

Belgian designer Kris Van Assche's sporty chic Spring/Summer 2014 collection showed a very strict viewpoint of melding athletic wear with high fashion, anoraks were embossed in a crocodile pattern while windbreakers were paired with slim tailored trousers with chunky heeled oxfords. Van Assche is one of the few menswear designers in Paris  under the pressure of showing two fashion lines in the same week. He's been pulling it off season after season with distinct separation between his eponymous line and Dior Homme. Though there is some overlap, the balancing act he performs twice a year is like the intersect of a Ven diagram, there are similarities but as a whole the two are different.
