RUNWAY: Calvin Klein Collection SS12
When designing a collection that is inherently minimalist like
Calvin Klein, it can be a struggle to come up with new designs and be innovative. Leave it Calvin Klein's mens Creative Director
Italo Zucchelli to continue to push the envelope of who the Calvin Klein man is. Showing a collection based on some of the most technologically advanced fabrics known to man, Zucchelli showed harem pants in the beginning but the proportion of the pants eventually became leaner to fit comfortably without being too tight or loose. One point of contention were the boxy shorts shown towards the end of the collection, their shape did not help the man wearing them and though it was cohesive with the 90s influence, they felt rather down market, meaning if they are ever produced, you'll find them quickly on the racks of outlet and discount retailers. On a different note, the casting of the show was perfection, and there was no argument about that; the casting agents for Calvin Klein are always on point.
