RUNWAY: Burberry Prorsum SS12

Burberry Prorsum's Spring/Summer 2012 collection segued quite well from its Cruise 2012 collection that we reported on a few weeks ago. The tribal influences transitioned from Cruise to Ready to Wear. However, the collection seemed to borrow heavily from Prada's Spring/Summer 2011 collection: from the similarly patterned and shaped sweaters to the strong brogues. in all, the brand's identity felt a bit lost this season with the amalgamation of colors, fabrics, tribal references, and those hats, but pared down, the trousers were still exceptionally tailored and the outerwear, which is Burberry's claim to fame, were all very well done. In the end, the collection lacked the energy and enthusiasm its past collections have had.
