RUNWAY: Bottega Veneta SS12

Bottega Veneta's Spring/Summer 2012 was all about texture, from the first look, worn by Alexandre Cunha, to the very last look, worn by David Agbodji. Midnight blue seems to be the color of season in Milan, nearly every show thus far has shown a variation of the shade for SS12, and the first quarter of Tomas Maier's collection for Bottega Veneta heavily featured the universally pleasing color. The Bottega Veneta man is always polished but can also let his metaphorical hair down and that can be seen by the mélange of colors during the middle of the show, which could only be classified as ridiculously expensive tie-dye. In all, the collection was not as strong as Maier's previous offerings, which are usually one our favorite collections every season, but this collection will please his customers and earn him praise for the quality of the clothes, as well as its utilitarian functionality.
