RUNWAY: Alexis Mabille SS12
The usually romantic Alexis Mabille went a bit raunchy for his Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Then again, he does have an underwear collaboration with luxe personal furnishings company, HOM, to promote, so if you're wondering why there were so many underwear-only looks, that's why. We're sure not too many are complaining; but the collection as a whole was a big departure from what we're used to from Mabille.Aside from the underwear-clad looks, the collection fell flat. There wasn't much cohesion between the pieces. His silhouette still remained very lean, if not too lean; trousers, pants, and shorts were all well tailored and the cropped military trenchcoat on Adnan Djinovic was a standout piece. The collection was not bad but the only adjective we could find to describe the collection might be worse than "bad", that word would be "forgettable".
