RUNWAY: Gant by Michael Bastian FW11

Michael Bastian took his collection for Gant to the Nordic mountains for Fall/Winter 2011. The Gant by Michael Bastian collection merges Gant's preppy Americana aesthetic, with Bastian's edgy vision of the modern man (and woman) with slick tailoring and nuance details and this collection further proved Bastian's ability to meld his vision with Gant's. The clothes offered the gamut from utilitarian outerwear to sharply tailored trousers to cold weather accessories that had a little chutzpah without being gimmicky. Bastian also introduced Gant by Michael Bastian timepieces, which offer 3 interchangeable arm bands and start at $375.

Also, the Gant by Michael Bastian line is also more affordable than Bastian's eponymous line, which is not offering any Fall/Winter 2011 clothes due to a production change. His eponymous line will return for Spring/Summer 2012.
