Timo Weiland's downtown cool-kid look is back for Spring/Summer 2017 with a collection that took on tailoring and mixed it with splashy details like animal prints and tiger motifs like the outerwear felt seasonless, like a suede Perfecto or terrycloth coat.

A 1950s inspired collection, along with old school TVs littered with white noise, anchored Timo Weiland's sharp and tailor-heavy Spring/Summer 2016 collection. Bold patterned knits and shorts, as well as strips of white noise on a sweater added a modern touch to the vintage-tinged collection while utilitarian summer coats like one in black and blue, in a technical fabric, looked super chic.

Since breaking up the men's and women's collections up to show both separately, New York-based label Timo Weiland opted for a static presentation for its FW14 collection, full of minimal and cool looks, mixing a bit of hipster chic, from cozy toques to chunky black and white plaid pattern.

Timo Weiland's SS14 show was short and sweet, with only a handful of mens looks, the design duo created crisp and clean menswear, with fresh faced models.

It was high time that Timo Weiland separated his mens and womens collections. For years, Weiland has opted to show both collections in one cohesive runway show. That might be a bit more expedient but one, or both, of the collections usually suffers from a lack of identity. Showing one runway show means that both lines have to be linear and tell the same story. However, mens and womenswear hardly ever line up so it was smart that for FW13, Weiland showed a separate mens collection that had its own identity. Beautiful tailoring and a strong print story emerged, as well as great hexagonal stitching and quilting.

Timo Weiland offered plenty to its clientele for SS13. Pieces that whose inspiration came from East Asia and the military were stronger than others while the sharp pops of color created a nice contrast with the colors neutrals.
