Glam rock stars paraded down the runway in slim suits and bright and bold colors at Costume National Homme's FW16 show. Fur coats, leather pants, and chokers rounded out the collection that offered a sophisticated take on the Rock n' Roll lifestyle.

Fringe, leather and rock n' roll converged at Costume National Homme's sleek and sexy new collection. Add a shirt open halfway down or a skintight top that exposes just a bit of the model's taut stomach and the result is sure to be on the wishlist of many a musician, say, for example Harry Styles. Leather pants also added plenty of attitude though it'd seem a bit uncomfortable in the summer heat. However, when you're a rockstar, you need not worry about silly things like weather and wearing weather-appropriate clothes, all you'd need or want are ultra cool clothes and this collection provides just that.

Costume National Homme's rocking FW15 collection had plenty of attitude. Leather, stripes and fringe-y fur mixed well with the cropped jackets and the camel coat that opened the show. Scarves draped around the models necks relaxed the collection's hard, Rock n' Roll aesthetic and gave the looks a nonchalant elegance, though the razzle-dazzle from a leather suit and glittering biker jackets were standouts.

Striped suits, a bit of leather and a strong helping of color made for an intriguing Spring/Summer 2015 collection from Costume National Homme. While on trend with striped suits, chunky and subtle like previously seen at Ermenegildo Zegna, the look here felt more rockstar from another decade. Though the label did not stray too far from their bread and butter suiting, the addition of a suede blouson and matching pair of bottoms and a roomy pair of leather pants complete with studs made the collection more memorable.

A flash of color was all that Costume National had to do to warm up the senses during its FW14 runway show today in Milan. Slim silhouettes pervaded the runway and the trend of a looser, roomier fit were banished, at least at this show. Strong knits with plenty of texture were luxe and wearable while elongated sleeves added some fun, as well as that certain bit of Italian quirkiness that makes the Milanese shows different.

There are two prime reasons why Milan is falling behind New York, Paris and London in terms of prestige and innovation: (1) they do not endorse and promote young designers, so the talent they produce go elsewhere, usually London, to show their designs and (2) the big names that are showing are, for the most part, complacent in producing the same prosaic collection every year with minimal changes from fabrics to an extra button or zipper.

The latter does not only apply to Costume National Homme but to many, even more famous, labels in Milan. For SS14, Costume National showed plenty of covetable looks that will surely sell because of its name and quality of design. However, it's beginning to be quite easy to predict what we'll see from many of these labels in Milan because in many cases it looks and feels quite repetitive.
