RUNWAY: Versace Pre-Fall 2019

Back in September, it was announced that Versace would be acquired by Capri Holdings, the new name for Michael Kors' corporate arm. Fast forward to December and Versace has landed in New York, home to Kors, to show in the Big Apple for the first time ever. The result was a very self-referential collection that harkened some of Versace's most famous pieces, like the safety pin dress worn by Elizabeth Hurley. For menswear, however, there are less notable pieces, instead Donatella showed a vibrant, print-filled men's collection that mirrored the joie-de-vivre of the collection's host city. Also worth noting that Versace is now fur-free so all the fur seen in this (and future) collection will be faux fur.
