RUNWAY: Sankuanz SS19
From last season's rejection of walls, or barriers,
Sankuanz offered another slightly political take for its SS19 collection, one that was rooted in Mexico's rich culture and history. It is quite fitting after the world saw the wonder and beauty of the country's heritage in the Disney film, Coco. There were other aspects that circled on this idea of culture and heritage and wanting to protect it that felt current and of-the-now; this manifested itself in metal chains and leather acting as a second skin. There was also vibrant colors and a joie-de-vivre as no one culture is all doom and gloom.
