RUNWAY: Martine Rose SS19

The similarities between Martine Rose's collection and that of Balenciaga are quite strong, the former did work with Demna Gvasalia on the latter's collections early on. With that similarity comes a familiar sense of newness and a youthquake taking over, one that seems to be quite needed. With the advent of social media, teens are influencing society far quicker and more powerfully than ever; they're using their voices to promote inclusion, stop gun violence and clap back at stodgy politicians who dismiss that they are the future. That sort of confidence is evident in this collection, as is the designer's point of view.
