RUNWAY: Lanvin SS19
As the future at
Lanvin looks bleakerevery day, the label's men's designer,
Lucas Ossendrijver, is under a lot of pressure to add even more value to the label since the women's department is not adding any since the unceremonious firing of Alber Elbaz. This translated into a darker, more ominous collection from Ossendrijver and the unpredictable weather was used to translate these uncertain times into clothes which was thrown together, stitched or layered upon one another to create busy, slouchy looks. There was also a strong focus on bags from oversized rucksacks to leather-bound mesh bags, all of which was to help insulate the world'd oldest fashion house until its owner can sell it at a value she deems worthy.
