RUNWAY: Jacquemus SS19

Simon Porte Jacquemus has been making waves with his womenswear and so when he teased his first men's collection a few months ago, there were whispers of secret show locations and subtle imagery from the label on what this inaugural collection would look like. Indeed when the time came, the show was held in remote enclave outside of Marseilles, France and the buff men who walked the port-cum-runway looked to be coming out of the ocean. This laid back vibe transported even the casual viewer of these photos to a beach-y locale with easy layers that one can take off to go for a swim or layer for a night out but without ever looking too put together - this is the countryside after all, there is no need for all that formal city dressing. No, here, it is all about the easy life and easy but chic clothes, maybe even show off that six-pack you spent all winter crafting.
