RUNWAY: Feng Chen Wang FW18

Feng Chen Wang, originally from China, looks back on her childhood for her FW18 eponymous collection. Some items looked worn or were stitched together from older, maybe ragged clothes, or altogether too large and therefore cinched at the waist. These are all things many children in the world know all too well, especially those from poorer backgrounds. But Wang is now a jetsetter who splits her time between Shanghai, New York and London and her label has an on-going collaboration with Air Jordan so throughout the collection there is also a sense of hope and aspiration that says, no matter where you were born or how you were raised, that does not dictate where you end up.
